The Hale Measurement Recording Instrument is a computerized measuring device that uses High Resolution Astronomy Grade Optical encodes to transmit extremely precise three dimensional position data to the computer.  The information supplied by these devices allows the software to determine and calculate not simply pitch but also chamber, rake and track.  With our technicians' 50 plus years of experience pluse MRI Scan, We can now provide the highest level of accuracy on all of our repairs.

Benefits of the MRI

With the MRI Scan, Murphy's Propeller Technicians obtain a detailed layout of each blade in multiple radii with several hundred interrogations per radius as well as the computed mean for each radius.  Point to Point position, Blade Segment Analysis and Section Plot Graphs for the entire wheel are available in both numeric and graphic formats.  This detail provides the repair technicians with an accurate picture of not only how much each blade is out of specification but also WHERE. As the repair process proceeds the propeller MRI may be used to document the progress

The higher class the propeller is tuned to, the greater the improvement in fuel efficiency and performance.  Also, it can decrease the possibility of vibration.

Customer Reports

The MRI Scan produces Computerized Reports before ,as well as upon completion of repairs by Murphy's Propeller Technicians so the customer can be presented with data in a concise manner that is designed to be understood by the boat owner.
